Music Commentary--Creative Writing--Cultural Hilarity

"What if there are no cries of anguish to be heard? Who is prepared to take arms against a sea of amusements? To whom do we complain, and when, and in what tone of voice, when serious discourse dissolves into giggles?"--Neil Postman

After

When time holds tomorrow hostage,

Demanding a payment for services rendered,

Interpretation should not be left to

sages and architects.

We must find a new urgency with which to build,

A structure for future muses

to demolish.

Inspiration must come in coffee cups

and tin cans,

Not to mention this forgetting to kiss

goodnight before sleeping.
